(More customer reviews)This unit worked fine for me. I have 5 Kidde P12010 Smoke Alarm (dual) Detectors plus 2 Kidde KN-COP-IC Carbon Monoxide detectors. They are all AC powered with battery backup and all are interconnected via the 3rd (red) wire. When one alarm goes off, they all sound (including the carbon monoxide unit) so it really gets your attention. I used the SM120X to interface it to my security/fire alarm system. I used the N/O contacts to connect into the fire alarm input of the security system. Press any of the smoke detector test buttons and the "FIRE" zone on my security system activates which connects via telephone to my alarm monitoring company. The carbon monoxide detectors DO NOT activate my fire alarm system. If you desire this, I believe there is another similar module available. The carbon monoxide detector has a digital display which reads "Fire" when the smoke detectors alarm.
