(More customer reviews)Good idea, poor execution. This was the only box or window fan I could find that offers filtration (why??). It uses a regular filter you would use for your home furnace/ac. I thought that was a plus when I ordered it, because it would be cheap to replace. It's actually a minus, though. The filter is way to thick for a fan like this. On the low setting, you don't even feel a breeze. When you turn it up to medium or high, then it's too loud (not to mention wasting more electricity and polluting the Earth). I'm going to try to find a different filter... a lighter one and see if that helps. Thankfully, the filter easily snaps off so I can still use it as a regular fan if all else fails.
