(More customer reviews)We've been buying these at the grocery store, and they make a very nice fire. They're not quite as hot as regular firewood, but they burn much longer, produce fewer emissions, and leave a lot less ash in the fireplace. They crackle, but don't splutter and pop like raw logs. (A nice feature for safety paranoids like me.) We generally get the 3-packs in the store for anywhere from $7.49 to $9.99 - but they often have an instant coupon attached for $3 off. The literature that comes as part of the package also contains a "$5 off 2 packs" coupon that doesn't expire, so we also save those for when we buy them without the instant coupon. They're not terribly cheap, but I think it's a nice evening's fire for 5 - 7 bucks. We'll start the fire at the beginning of a hockey game, and manage to get through that and a movie before the fire dies out.
