Wizard Cherrywood Churchwarden Tobacco Pipe Review

This is a display piece only. IT wasn't made to handle nor smoke. The finish on it will rub off on your hands and stain your lips purple if you actually smoke it. The bowl is made of cherrywood, and the stem is a white hard wood. Together they have been stained almost black to compensate for the duality of colors. The result is a sloppy looking pipe that will leave your hands and face even worse looking after using it.

Nice color, shape. I really like that it has U shaped slots for the stems, much easier than the hole type.

The pictures here are pretty as are the pipes not doubt and we are not talking very much money for six pipes even if you include the shipping and handling. Buyers need to remember three very important old sayings. First, "All that glitters is not gold," and "You get what you pay for," and "Buyer beware."
Fortunately for me I did not shell out my hard earned cash for these things. Unfortunately for a well meaning, kind, and generous friend, he did when he purchased these as a gift and presented them to me t. Of course you might well tell me to "Not look a gift horse in the mouth," and perhaps you may have a point. Never the less, others need to be warned away from this product so I will bite the bullet and go ahead and check out the teeth of this particular horse for you. (It you are reading this old friend, forgive me...I truly appreciated the thought...I simply have to be honest in this case).
As other reviewers have noted; these are wee tiny little things and far, far from the size of standard pipes. The brier is indeed of the lowest quality and to be quite frank, there is grave doubt in my mind if it is truly brier. Due to the small size of the bowl, the draw on these things resembles trying to suck a gold ball through a soda straw. The pipes, while attempting to smoke them, turn hot, and I mean really, really hot almost instantly. Due to the size and design flaws, moisture quickly builds up at the bottom which really mucks things up. It took the consumption of less that half the tobacco load to render the pipe almost untouchable.
The price here should be the first tip that something is amiss. Speaking in the most general term, it is a sort of rule to thumb that any pipe you purchase (in the market of today) for less than 80-100 dollars probably is not the best of pipes to own and smoke. Now I know there are many, many exceptions to the general rule. I have an old Yellow Bowl, which was an inexpensive pipe to begin with, which I purchased, used (In the trade, we call them "Estate Pipes" as it sounds better than "used"), at auction, over twenty years ago. I paid less than five dollars for it and fifteen other pipes. Today I still use it and it is one of my favorite...go figure. I would hate to see a new want to be smoker be introduced to pipe smoking via these pipes. The experience should be pleasing. With these pipe there will be no pleasure found.
There is a plus side to these things though. They are very pretty to look at; quite attractive as a matter of fact and mounted together they make wonderful conversation pieces.
I fear that the buyer and especially the pipe smoker who purchases this set of pipes will be sorely disappointed. Best to fork out a bit more coin and just buy one decent pipe than be stuck with something that is almost unsmokable and will most assuredly give you a case of tongue bit that will take days to get over.

Handmade Wooden Durable Tobacco Smoking Pipe Review

This pipe looks great but is really just junk. The drilled hole at the end of the shank was not drilled correctly and any slight jolt could easily crack it so the mouth piece would never fit again. The metal ring in between the mouth piece and the shank was loose and fell off right out of the box when breaking the pipe down in to two pieces. Also there are no auxillary rubber rings that come with this pipe like in the product description, infact there are no rubber rings on this pipe at all. So there is a major case of false advertising. This pipe is such a pice of junk that I never even used it and bought a nice one instead. Id even go as far as to say as I am thinking of throwing this away. So my reccomendation is that if you are looking for a nice tobacco pipe, spend the extra money and buy somthing that is worth it and will last more than 30 seconds out of the box. Like everyone says... you get what you pay for....
