I received the Mini smoker and was surprised at the poor quality. the bottom which is staked in was crooked by at least 1/4 inch preventing the smoker from siting flat on the bottom. the bracket holding the heater which was to be welded, was broken free. the top cover would not fit on to the unit until I bent the edges on both the top and the housing. there was a dent in the side of the housing, but nothing wrong with the cardboard package that the unit came in, meaning the dent was made at the factory and shipped that way. I wrote all this up with photos and sent it to the smokehouse factory, only to say that we should all buy American made products, but the manufacturer would have to do their part in providing a decent item. I waited close to a month before reviewing the smoker, hoping to hear something from them, I have not heard a word, which makes me think they don't really care. I repaired all the problems and used the smoker on my last fishing trip. It was OK.

Smokehouse Big Chief Front - Load Smoker Review

(More customer reviews)i have been smoking, grilling, and Barbecuing for many years. i previously owned a thermostatically controlled electric wood-chip smoker that was way more hype and expense than it was worth. Going back to simplicity, (The fancy one failed in less than 1 years use) i bought a Big Chief and have been extremely pleased with the results. i can honestly say i've done 30 pounds of beef jerky alone in this smoker. The salmon and cheese i have smoked were excellent as well. No smoking process is completely "hands-off", but the Big Chief is a simple, honest platform that will allow you to produce wonderful results. Their wood chips are inexpensive and work perfectly in the smoker. Also, IF you should ever need them, replacement parts and readily available, and it's made here in the USA! Anybody remember Grandpa's smoked meat back in the day? It was probably done on a Chief. 'Nuff said ;)

Smokehouse USA 100% Natural Piggy Slivers Dog Treats Review

(More customer reviews)Purchased this because of the special offer from Amazon (4-for-3.) When I received them in the mail, I was surprised at how small they were. Each sliver seems to be about 1/3 the size of the pig ears I used to buy. But each bag weighs a bit over 16 oz / 1 lb (bag included, I'm guessing about 14-15 oz of actual ears.) So compared to what I used to buy at Wal-Mart, this is a pretty good discount.
Oh, and the dog (terrier) seems to like them alright - and I'm pretty sure that's what actually matters.

Smokehouse Resealable Bag Review

(More customer reviews)This was the 2nd time that I ordered the Smokehouse USA Chicken Stix. The 1st order had USA printed right on the bag, this one had a USA sticker over the China sticker. In addition, the product looked entirely different. Obviously I am concerned. I pay more to ensure I am not feeding my "fur kids" products from China. If it happens again, I'll stop ordering all Smokehouse products on-line.

Smokehouse 100% Natural Snack Mix Bucket of Dog Treats Review

(More customer reviews)Dog owners beware! Although most dogs like these treats (and they are a good price for the amount you get), please use caution. Smokehouse, a chinese exporter, was involved in the massive contaminated treat and food recalls last year.

If you can't afford the healthier and safer free range treats (such as lamb ears, kneecaps, tendons, etc), you can instead find some great recipes to make your own dog snacks. Or buy a Kong and shove some doggie snacks in it, or smear a dab of natural peanut butter in it... it will keep your dog busy and is good brain stimulation.
If you absolutely must buy these Smokehouse treats, be sure to CHECK THE CONTAINER FOR BUGS. The last one I saw had some of the most disgusting gray beetle-looking bugs crawling into and around the treats in the jar. Also, keep your empty container (or at least the label) for a couple months in case your dog does get sick.
