(More customer reviews)When a dog needs eye protection, Doggles are the product to use. My Siberian husky developed eye problems and we were strongly encouraged by our vet to use sunglasses for her. After finding that the regular Doggles were simply intolerable for my dog, we tried the K9 optix variety, and have had much more success with them.
The head straps work very well, keeping the glasses in place while walking and running about. My Siberian took to wearing her Doggles very quickly, and while she does not exactly enjoy them, at least she tolerates them well. We always get lots of attention when we go out and she is wearing her cool shades. People can't resist a dog with glasses!
I ordered the size large silver framed style, only to find that the nose piece was much too wide, despite my dog being the correct weight on the Doggles sizing chart. Owners of breeds with slender muzzles such as shelties or greyhounds may want to be careful when buying the weight recommended size, as the nose piece might be too big, which causes the glasses to slip downward and not cover the eyes. Also, the nose piece itself was very fragile, and broke after only a few months without any replacement pieces available. If the glasses themselves were more resilient, and the sizing chart more refined, these would be the ultimate buy.

Smokehouse 100-Percent Natural Duck and Sweet Potato Dog Treats, Reseal Bag Review

(More customer reviews)I have made every effort to NOT buy/feed anything made in China to my pet. I researched these duck/sweet potato treats before finally deciding to buy them. Nowhere on the amazon product page does it tell you where these treats are made, so I searched for the Smokehouse website which claimed that ONLY some of their CHICKEN treats contained chicken from China, but all other products are made in the USA. So, I felt safe in purchasing these duck/sweet potato treats. After opening a bag, and giving them to my dog did I glance at the product origin. Needless to say my dog likes them very much, but I was NOT happy to find PRODUCT OF CHINA on the bag.
Boo hiss to amazon for not putting the product origin on the product page, and to Smokehouse for misleading consumers on their product information website. Why do they do this, because there are customers just like me that care where the product originates. Many of you may not be concerned about this, but I am, and I think it's very misleading not to provide accurate, and complete information about the product when purchasing from an internet store. At least the product doesn't smell like plastic like the Dingo products.
I won't be purchasing these again. My dog seemed to like them, but she won't be getting anymore of them. I took a star off due to the lack of complete information from amazon, and misleading information from Smokehouse.
UPDATE: Big thumbs up to amazon for great customer service. When I called to return this item they were very helpful in processing a refund, and because it is considered a grocery item I didn't even have to return the items. I had also purchased the Smokehouse duck chips, but they too are made in China. I suggested the addition of the country of origin to both product pages. Just another reason why I don't hesitate to purchase from amazon. They truly have great customer service....rare these days.

Thermos Leak-Proof Travel Mug - 14 oz / 0.4 L Review

Pros:
- Keeps coffee hot for a very long time when sealed.
- Doesn't leak.
- Durable.
- Carabiner makes it easy to clip onto backpack.
Cons:
- A little inconvenient to clean.
- Nissan unresponsive about replacement parts.
Tips:
Make sure the lid is screwed down snugly, but not too tightly. You want to form a complete seal to prevent leaks and retain heat, but the seal gets tighter as the contents cool and shrink.
Don't fill past the raised metal fill-line on the inside of the mug. If you overfill the mug, some liquid will be pushed up into the threads when you screw the lid down, and you won't notice until you tip the mug. (It's easier to see the line if you fill it beneath an overhead light.) If you think your mug leaks, you've probably overfilled it.
If you fill it just right, you don't even have to stir your coffee. Just add your sugar, cream, ketchup, or whatever you put in there, seal the lid, and shake the mug to mix it. (I've never been able to do this with any other mug).
When you wash the mug, remember to remove and wash the silicone rubber o-ring. The lid is hollow and can be pried apart with a spoon for cleaning if some liquid seeps inside.
If you wash the mug in the dishwasher (Nissan recommends against this), remove the plastic base before (or after) washing to remove the water that collects in there.
If you lose the gasket (or cut it on a knife in the dishwasher like I did), I've found these to be suitable inexpensive replacements after a lot of hunting around: 228 Silicone Rubber O-Ring 70A Durometer, Burnt Orange, 2-1/4" ID x 2-1/2" OD x 1/8" W, by Small Parts Inc.

(More customer reviews)As soon as I got it, I started it running full-speed in my 120sq.ft bedroom all evening and night. Within an hour or two of running, I could already tell a noticeable difference in the air quality. I have the ionizer running as well. The air is fresher, and I can breathe easier. It is the first time in years, I woke up without my nose and throat congested from my dust/mold allergies.
While the box states it is only for rooms up to 81sq.ft. I found it has worked really well in my slightly larger room. The high fan-speed is powerful, but noticeable in sound. However, it is only just as noisy as any "wind" type fan. However, on the medium and low fan-speeds it is practically inaudible. It is currently on the medium fan-speed and my desktop computer is louder than it at this moment.
This takes the Holmes "D" type filters, and I can get a 2-pack at my local WalMart for $30. The instruction manual says that based on air quality and typical usage, you should change the filter every 10 - 12 months. Therefore, a $30 2-pack could last you two years. Also, of course, the Air Purifier does come with a filter preinstalled. Typical usage according to the instruction manual is operating it continuously.
I do not smoke, nor do I have any pets. So, I cannot attest to its usefulness in that regard. However, my room has a mold problem and I also have a dust allergy.
I am quite please with the Holmes HAP706-U Air Purifier.

(More customer reviews)I tried the Smokestop filter for the Blueair 402 model, but these are the exact same, only different sized to accommodate the larger models. If you have any issue with odors or cigarette smoke, this is the filter to get.
I had an extreme situation where there was a methane leak in my neighborhood. The fumes were claimed by authorities to be "safe," but I and many other neighbors suffered from headaches, dizziness and nauseousness. The fumes burned at your eyes and it was pretty unbearable. Well, turns out this was to recur for the next few nights, and with no other place to stay, I invested in a Smokestop filter to temporarily replace my particle filter. It was INCREDIBLE. Immediately, all the fumes in the room were swept up by the Blueair and I was able to spend my time in this room with no health issues. (Whenever I left the room to another part of the house, all the previously mentioned symptoms returned.)
What's the difference between the Smokestop and the regular particle filter? This filter has a layer of activated charcoal that captures odors, and still has the familiar particle filtering layers, all built into one. Simple concept, and yes, a lot of other air cleaners have charcoal, but this one is specific to the Blueair and it's unique air-cleaning technology. After my experience with the noxious fumes in my home, I am completely sold on the effectiveness of this product. If you have any odor issues in your home, then spring a little extra dough for these filters. They are well worth the extra bucks.

(More customer reviews)Tested the negative ion output with my ion detector. My detector only registers anything above about 700,000 ions per cm3. My large, powerful home ionizer sets if off at almost 3 feet. However, this ionizer does not set it off even when the tester is nearly touching the emitter. So it's ion output at any distance, even a foot or two, is probably very low.
It certainly produces ozone. You can smell it if you put your nose to it. This would certainly reduce odors, and it also cleans the air. However, some people with bad asthma may be very sensitive to ozone.
In short, if you want the make the car smell fresher, it is good. If you want the benefits of negative ions, probably not going to get it with this device.

We have neighbors that smoke and the smell sometimes gets in to the baby's room so I got this filter when it was time to replace the one already in the odor eliminator and it works wonders. The smell from his diaper genie as well as the cigarette smell is no longer in his room. I would recommended this as the replacement filter even if you don't have smokers in your home.
